Google Search Console — baseline checklist (Aaj Ka Mausam)

Do once per property, then monthly review.

1) Property & verification
   - Add https property in Search Console (domain or URL-prefix).
   - Verify via DNS or HTML file; confirm "Ownership verified".

2) Sitemaps
   - Submit sitemap: https://YOUR_DOMAIN/sitemap.xml
   - Fix "Couldn't fetch" or 404 if any.

3) Indexing
   - Pages → inspect sample URLs: home, one state hub, one city, /privacy, /cookies.
   - Note counts for "Indexed" vs "Excluded"; investigate spikes in "Crawled - currently not indexed".
   - Check "Excluded by noindex" — city pages should NOT be noindexed after deploy.
   - Verify API_URL is set in production so SSR fetches real weather (not localhost).

4) Core Web Vitals
   - Experience → Core Web Vitals: LCP, INP, CLS for mobile and desktop.
   - Fix regressions before adding heavy ad scripts.

5) Queries & pages (CTR experiments)
   - Performance → 28 days → filter by "India", device Mobile.
   - Export top queries with impressions; match to keywords.csv clusters.
   - For pages with high impressions + low CTR, test new title/description in next deploy.

6) Rich results
   - URL Inspection → "Rich results" for a city page with FAQ schema.
   - Fix errors from FAQ or breadcrumb markup if reported.

7) Manual actions & security
   - Security & Manual Actions → confirm "No issues detected".

8) Links (optional)
   - Note external domains linking in; pursue quality Hindi publishers, not bulk spam.

Repeat steps 3–5 monthly after major releases.
